October Highlights for Nintendo Switch 2

With September behind us, Nintendo is gearing up for a huge holiday season with the Nintendo Switch 2. After the September Nintendo Direct, fans now have plenty to look forward to, and October is shaping up to be one of the busiest months yet. From major first-party titles to exciting third-party releases, here are the biggest Nintendo Switch 2 October 2025 game releases you wonโ€™t want to miss!

Super Mario Galaxy & Super Mario Galaxy 2 (2nd October)

To celebrate Mario’s 40th anniversary and to garner hype for the upcoming “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie”, Nintendo are releasing both Galaxy titles on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

These titles will feature a 1080p and 4k resolution (on the Switch 2 only) for the first time. There are also new story book pages and a brand new assist mode.

Yooka-Replaylee (9th October)

Yooka-Replaylee is a re-imagining of the original Yooka-Laylee, first released back in 2017. This open world platforming adventure brings double the content with new moves, areas, challenges, collectibles and much more.

If you played the original and are feeling the itch to replay, or simply are looking to play it for the first time, this looks to be the definitive way to enjoy the game. Yooka-Replaylee is also offering a physical release on a full game cart. No controversial game key carts over here!

Pokรฉmon Legends Z-A (16th October)

The Legends series is making its comeback and it’s bringing mega evolution back with it! Set in Lumiose City of the Kalos region, Pokรฉmon Legends Z-A is breaking the mould by introducing real-time Pokรฉmon battle for the first time in a main series title.

Mega evolution is making its much anticipated return, with 9 new mega evolutions already revealed at the time of writing. Explore wilds zones and a previously untold story featuring Zygarde.

Persona 3 Reload (23rd October)

Finally receiving its Nintendo port, Persona 3 Reload is hitting our handhelds at the end of October. This is a reimagining of the story told in Persona 3, with an emotionally gripping narrative that deals with grief.

The gameplay features Atlas’ signature and engaging turn-based style, with a calendar system and social links that are almost guaranteed to get the player emotionally invested.

Two Point Museum (28th October)

Two Point Museum released on just about everything else earlier this year, so it’s natural that it’s finally making a debut on Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.

This is the latest edition in the “Two Point” series, with the management sim allowing players to curate their own museum and send staff out on exhibitions to improve their exhibits and make the best museum!

Mina the Hollower (31st October)

Last on our October highlights and probably in the line of one of the most anticipated indie titles is Mina the Hollower. It’s set to run at 120fps on the Nintendo Switch 2 making full use of the device’s screen in handheld mode.

From the developers that brought you Shovel Knight, Mina the Hollower is a 2D Zelda-like featuring authentic 8-bit visuals to bring you back to the Game Boy era. There’s a huge dark world to explore and enemies to defeat and a heart-warming tale.
